Thanks, Mike, for the idea on getting a fixed freq span display on the P3 while using VFO B with the sub RX for Xmit/RX using split. That is a useful technique as a workaround until the fixed span firmware is available. I like it for casual tuning around the band - hadn't thought of it before.
I'm with you on the request for an optional S unit display in conjunction with the dBm scale. I would have paid another $100 for a couple extra P3 knobs/encoders to have dedicated controls for REF LVL and SPAN. I use both frequently, and it is now a 3 step operation to change them - 2 button pushes and one knob rotation. And I usually forget the last button push in the heat of battle and end up messing up the setting. But I guess I'll learn after using it more.
