Hi Brian, I can appreciate your problem and it would be nice to be able to program or de-program certain button functions. Unfortunately, front panel labeling would be difficult to change. I've often wondered why I have frequently failed to contact stations only to discover that I was in TEST mode. But my problem is different than yours. I failed to take it out of TEST after having intentionally put it into TEST.
I seldom use the MODE switch to actually change modes. I prefer to use the quick memories on the M1 through M4 buttons to change modes within a given band. The K3 Frequency Memory Editor is an excellent tool for that purpose. M1 is always my CW segment, M2 is RTTY, M3 is SSB, and M4 is always PSK. But of course changing modes in this manner also changes the frequency to that which I have programmed the buttons. 73, Mike K2MK alsopb wrote: > > Anybody else pretty fed up with the TEST mode being on the MODE button? > > The chasing of the PJ's over the past week has really pointed out the > problem in spades. > > Any way to defeat the front panel test button or reassign it (like to > the REV button press mode)? > > > 73 de Brian/K3KO > -- View this message in context: http://elecraft.365791.n2.nabble.com/K3-test-mode-tp5643991p5644624.html Sent from the Elecraft mailing list archive at Nabble.com. ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
