Hi, Newbie question: I just finished my K2 and am slowly getting the options done and installed. My QTH has about S6 or so of power line pulse noise (especially noticeable on 80M) so I got the noise blanker. It is done and installed.
Based on previous radios I expected turning it on to make some noticeable difference in the received audio. I can tell absolutely do difference at any setting (lo or hi th, NB1 or NB2 or off). There also is no difference in the noise on 80M. I can currently only discern about 2 SSB signals on 80 - seems like way too few, but who knows? I have checked the parts, the voltages (which are switching as designated on the schematic) and if I set to lo-th, I do see pulses applied to the base of the gate transistor. But no noticeable difference in the sound.
