Hi John,

Phase noise is specified in the manual. It is a relatively constant  
-105 dBc/Hz, even at very close spacings, which is excellent  
performance for a low-cost, wide-range signal source.

I wouldn't amplify it to 1KW.

Let me know how it works for you as a replacement for the HP8640. Not  
as many knobs and switches, but it runs from a 9-V battery.
