The sun is about 4,600,000,000 years old. We've been studying the its behavior with modern scientific instruments for about 100 years.
That's like observing the weather conditions today for a few seconds and then trying to use what we observed to understand and predict the behavior of the weather over the next week or two. It might rain. It might not.
