I use a 12ft beach caster fishing rod, 40lb line, 6oz surf lead weight. I can shoot a line up over a 60 / 80 / 100ft tree with ease. Splice some 2/3mm rope on the weight end( after removing it) with the fishing line, i use white tape, reel in. Works every time.
