Hello Pete,
The rear panel mic jack is a stereo (T-R-S) jack with the mono mic signal on
the tip. The ring is not connected. It is an unbalanced input and accepts
balanced or unbalanced dynamic mics but only unbalanced electret condenser
mics. When RL.X bias is on, it supplies 8 volts.
You can glean most of this by perusing the schematics. You can also see a
summary of all the KIO3 connections in the chapter 7 sampler for the KE7X K3
book. Have a look at www.ke7x.com.
Cheers and 73,
Fred KE7X

Subject: [Elecraft] K3 Mic input rear panel

What is the pinout for K3 rear panel mic input? Looking for how to wire a mic.
Didn't see it in the manual.
Off-the-shelf mic does seem to work even with K3 set to use rear panel mic.
