Agree with Iain - if you are using the AUX cable and it has come loose that would explain both symptoms - no keying and no band change.
If it's not obviously loose, you should be able to get back on the air quickly by running the key line only and disconnecting the AUX cable. The key line is the single wire cable with the "RCA" connectors at each end. The connections are in your Owner's manual. With that connection, the K3 won't know if the KPA500 is on line, so you'll have to set your drive power manually. Also the KPA500 won't change bands until you transmit, since it will be sensing the drive power frequency to choose the correct band. If all is good using the Key cable, you know you have a AUX cable problem. Hmm, 25 watts in and 25 watts out of the KPA?? Switched to 20 meters and hit tune again. Still 25 watts out and the band display stayed where it started which was 3.5. Powered down the rig and amp, powered both back up but still getting the same result. And there are no faults showing. Looked in the user manual but nothing there seems to apply. > > So as of now I am not getting any power out and it does not switch bands. > > Anyone have any thoughts on these issues? Sounds like it's not getting keyed? This happened to someone else a few weeks ago, and he found that a cable had come loose ;) ~iain / N6ML ______________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
