I think it's more important to consider the proximity of the monitor to the aerial, rather than the amplifier. With a bit of luck, it's the aerial doing the transmitting and receiving, not the amplifier. This brings several variables into the equation, such as aerial gain and direction (if any), height and distance from the shack. Add to that short list; power levels, receive sensitivity, frequency in use and background noise levels ....
These variables will no doubt ensure a host of different answers for similar monitors !
