I went through everything with a "fine tooth comb" and this cap was not in the 
parts bag, nor had it worked itself out of the bag and into the general box.  
It is also a rather large cap as disc caps go so not as easy to hide in

You're probably already aware but sometimes missing parts can appear wedged 
into other parts - on a couple occasions I swore parts were missing but I'd 
find a tiny cap stuck inside the inside of a knob or something....
