Ed Same here. It's an issue that was raised many moons ago and I believe that Elecraft made some software changes to address this. In my humble opinion, it's nowhere near right yet.

I have no RF level issues: signal is full quieting on FM. Even yelling into the mic with my lips touching the mic makes no difference (according to the listener).
