It was November last year when I decided on a "fully loaded" slightly used K3 versus a FTDX5000 and I am so stoked that I made that decision.
I still monitor the user group for the high end Yaesu 5K because I am still interested in understand how the two rigs compare. One of today's posting was focused on roofing filters with a couple folks posting complaints about the stock filters for SSB on the 5K and their performance. Complaints about filters on a $5k plus rig, woah! Made me smile inside and out. One noted gent who I have gotten to know a little stated about the performance delta in this regard with the K3. Man, I am SO STOKED that I got this rig. Thanks Eric and Wayne and the Elecraft team for providing us with a better value and performance alternative to big three. I am waiting anxiously for my KX3 to arrive and I as soon as i close my next big business consulting project (in the works) I am getting another K3.
