What mic are you using? If you are using something with a stereo plug, you might be triggering the UP button input.

While I did not have a lot of time to further test. The issue was not apparent on the 20m band. I have had this issue previously, but not to this level. Also a small observation. Now when the unit is shut down, on the VFO B, a series of ***** appear.
