I put a trimpot on mine, to temporarily seek the right value (replaced with fixed resistor after experimentation) and I ended up with something like 680 ohms as I recall.

Yes, I dispensed with the trimpot and went directly to 1 K for R98. This has made the shifts considerably smaller, but they are still bothersome.

I'm going to try a larger value, such as 1.5 or 2 k next time I have the K2 apart. I made need to make some changes to T1 and T2 in order to avoid decreasing the overall TX gain.
