Hi, Don't know if you got your answer Al but VFO TRK is a ECSS (Exalted Carrier Selectable Sideband) mainly used for SWL on AM but can of course be used on Amateur AM reception to minimise fading and with selectable sidebands minimise QRM from one side. The K3 has a clever system that tracks the carrier automatically. Works very well,
