Brian, I think you are being confused by the way Elecraft works. They're not like most other companies. With most companies what they release for sale is "all there is". Unless the product utterly fails to perform it will see no further improvements and changes. Improvements will appear in a new model of the product in a few years that you can buy to replace the earlier model.
Elecraft continues to improve and enhance the rig you bought over its lifetime, allowing you to have the latest technology in your existing rig. That's why they encourage feedback about what customers perceive as issues, making software and the occasional hardware tweaks to deal with them rather than releasing a new model for you to buy. Existing customers get these upgrades free or for a very nominal cost. What might appear as a stream of bug fixes is actually a constant process of improvement that you don't typically get from an equipment manufacturer. At Elecraft, new models represent whole new designs incorporating new technologies specifically designed to meet certain needs, while they continue to tweak and enhance the existing rigs for their customers. 73, Ron AC7AC -----Original Message----- Wayne and Elecraft team . I have been holding off purchasing kx3 until most of the bugs both software and hardware have been worked out. Could some from elecraft give a written summary of what's been fixed and maybe what might be left. There has been so much traffic on this problem and that problem not sure what's fact and fiction.
