I used my K3 at 1 watt this past spring and summer to work QRP DXCC. Also worked a couple of Eurpean stations at .1 watt. Got a QRPp certificate for that. Lots of fun but somewhat challenging.

Ran the K3 at 5W on ssb sweepstakes with great results. Think I had a few non believers that I was really QRP. No regrets geting the KPA3 for full power but still enjoy QRP on a regular basis and for this the K3 rocks. I really enjoy the ability to adjust power at such fine steps. Want to run at 1W. 500mw 100mw? I can do it. an uncommon option on many other rigs. On 12/16/2012 9:01 PM, David Guernsey wrote: > Thanks to Elecraft for a great radio. I was able to make a DX contact with the South Cook Islands using my K3/10 at only 10 watts on 15 meters today. I only have an invergted vee up about 30 ft. for an antenna and run my K3 at 10 watts almost exclusively. > > > 73 de Dave KJ6CBS > ______________________________________________________________ > Elecraft mailing list > Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft > Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm > Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net > > This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net > Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html > ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html ----- No virus found in this message.
