I messed up the last reply somehow. (FAT FINGERS?) What I tried to say (it's actually in the middle of the last reply?) is:
I finished a new K2 a week or two ago and I too had a problem with the little rubber spacers sticking. Can't remember it happening before. Roger, W1EM -----Original Message----- Norm, Glue, yes, but SuperGlue on rubber does not work very well - the superglue hardens (becomes inflexible) and the rubber must still flex, so it will come off in time. I built a K2 recently and found the pads reluctant to stick too - so maybe Elecraft needs to monitor their pad vendor's process for a bit, or it may be that the problem is now solved but a few bad ones slipped through, and a few of us "unfortunates" got kits with bad adhesive. Rubber cement is a better choice, double sided tape is another, contact cement will work great, and many of the automotive glues specifically for rubber (or vinyl) to metal will work superbly - many of these are a form of contact cement, especially if the instructions indicate that you should let the glue surfaces dry (or 'tack up') before mating the surfaces. 73, Don W3FPR > -----Original Message----- > > Spent the weekend on a new K2.
