I checked the version of Hamlib available with the Sqeeze flavor of Debian. It is 1.2.11-1 and so considerably out of date vs the current version of 1.2.15-3.
I'll wait a bit to see if a later version gets uploaded to Debian - otherwise, I'll face the music and try to compile it locally from source.
