microHAM interfaces should *never* be connected to K3/P3 through a Y cable. The proper connection is the DB9 (marked "CAT") lead of the microHAM cable set should connect to the P3 "PC" jack and the P3 "XCVR" jack should be connected to the K3 RS-232 jack using the Elecraft supplied cable. As with any other RS-232 device, the microHAM <-> P3 connection can not withstand the load of a second receiver or inactive transmitter.
