Thanks Rick. I was unaware of the keying of the k3 via the acc pin. I'm using mmtty with a microham and all of a sudden I was only getting a couple of characters at a time. Didn't want to mention the microham at this point. But I bet there's a good chance the acc cable is loose! I just installed it all yesterday and did lots of connections. Thanks

You can FSkey the K3 via the ACC jack pin 1. The keying is simply on/off and the K3 generates the shift. I don't know what you mean by "use the k3 without software." You still need software to generate the FSK on/off keying signal. You tell your RTTY software (MMTTY or a logger program, for examples) to use FSK instead of AFSK. Usually they key the rig through a COM port which you must select and connect to ACC Pin 1 through a level converter. Details in the manuals. 73, ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
