I recently completed the assembly and calibration on a XV222 transverter. I am using it with a K2.
When I finally put the top cover in place I noticed that the output power was jumping around. Initially I thought that one of the connecting cables were not properly seated or maybe the output cables to the wattmeter and antenna were not tight. I noticed that when I picked up the transverter, to move it, the power output jumped around. Pushing on the top cover also made the power output jump around. When I removed the top cover the output was stable. I could push on the chassis and it did not change the power output. I thought that maybe the top cover was not making a good RF connection to the rest of the chassis so I went back and cleaned and sanded all of the mating surfaces. This had no effect. As long as the top cover is not in place it is stable. For now I am just running with the cover off. Has anyone had a similar problem?
