I just purchased a used Heil BM-10 headset, and I'm trying to determine how to connect it to my KX3. Neither Heil nor Elecraft have been much help. The headphone component works fine, but the mic has been a bit of a challenge. Elecraft said that no adapter is needed and that the BM-10 should work just fine with the 1/8" mic mono plug plugged directly into the mic jack on the KX3, but it doesn't work, even after I set the MICBIAS and MICBTN both to "OFF." The BM-10 has an HC-5 element. Is a Heil adapter required? If so, which one?
