I use a small 12V 4A switching supply similar to a laptop supply. I see a 3A version on the BG Micro website for under $8.
www dot bgmicro dot com and look for power supplies. I cannot vouch for this unit, but the one I use has been very convenient, especially for portable use. Mine has a small amount of hash at times (depending on the band, conditions, the antenna, etc.) but it has been very useful and I have made many QSO's at the kitchen table of a vacation house. Here is the BG Micro product description: Product Description Designed to be used anywhere in the world. 100-240 Vac input. 12Vdc/3A regulated output and they are smaller than a pack of cigarettes. Both take a figure 8 cheater cord input and output to a center + 2.5mm barrel connector. Not only are they UL and CSA approved, but there are so many approvals on these that they can be used virtually anywhere. The DVE supply measures 3-3/4"x2-3/16"x1-1/4". PWR1206..... Figure 8 Cheater cord. PWR1061....... Buy 3 power supplies and we throw in the cheater cords...... 72, John W2XS _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: Elecraft@mailman.qth.net You must be a subscriber to post to the list.
