The IOC upgrade was not required with previous microprocessor level changes,
but starting with uP revision 2.04 (which adds the K60XV support), the relay
control sequence changed (this has nothing to do with the KIO2), and the IOC
had to be changed as well.  It just so happens that the 2.04 firmware also
supports the Keying Waveshape change.

Soooo... if you need the 2.04 firmware, you will also need the IOC - but
Elecraft packages them together, so no concerns about ordering - but you do
have to know that it must be changed.  I guess that is the reason for the
note.
