As Ken's response indicates, the number of uses is probably as varied as the number of K3S/KRX3 owners. Most people will use the sub RX to listen to the pile-up when working DX, others will use it in contests to search for contacts, and others will use it like Ken is doing, to hear openings on a different band than the operating band. The sub RX definitely makes the K3 more versatile.
