I am finishing up K2 #5113 and have run into a snag configuring the microphone on the K2SB2. I am using a Heil Handi Mic HM-IC. Bob Heil told me to get this mic as he said it would optimize my 706 MKIIG and the K2. I'm using the Kenwood 8 pin cable for the K2, again per Heil's recommendation. I've set up the P1 on the K2SB2 for the Kenwood mics using block jumpers. Setting the K2 power for 2 watts, when I push the PTT, I'm getting a carrier at over 10 watts out. No modulation when I speak, just a constant key down carrier at a very high power output. I'm using a very reliable and accurate Waters analog watt meter.
