Wow, what a great find, Jim! I was communications officer on a US Navy ammunition ship during the Vietnam conflict. The radio room had half a dozen R390A receivers that we used for receiving the fleet broadcast and for ship-shore and ship-ship communications. It was an impressively capable receiver, probably the best ever made in the vacuum tube era. The mechanical aspects of the radio were staggeringly complex, so maintaining them must have been a real challenge. Good luck finding the meters.
