Yes, all you need is the cables. As far as connecting the logic and RF grounds together, you may find some improvement by turning MIC BTN in the menu to OFF.
Many have been doing that with the KX3, and the KX2 should behave similarly.

If you want the 'best of both worlds', then you will build special cables that use a 4 conductor jack to separate the grounds.
