Frank,

I think you will be happier using the soundcard route.
The KX3 Utility will PSK-D, FSK-D or CW.
If you already have the capability to download firmware to the KX3/KXPA100 or to save the configuration, etc using KX3 Utility, you are all set - just go to the Terminal tab, then tune the KX3 to the station of interest (and set the proper data submode - or CW) and it should be decoded.
Type in the transmit window and it should be transmitted.

If you want the conventional waterfall display and point to the signal and click to tune it, use the soundcard and select DATA A for all but RTTY where you will want to use AFSK A.
