Dave, Try this from P3 MCU 1.60 / SVGA 1.34 / March 21, 2016 release notes:
Enable/disable TX sensing at the TxMon coupler: Added TxSensEn to TxMon sub-menu. This allows enabling/disabling of transmit sensing at the coupler. For K3 and K3S users, TxSensEn can be set to “disabled”, which will use the serial connection from the K3 to determine the TX state.
