For reasons of family convenience, I have started to run my KX3 remotely in my
Loft using our WiFi Lan from a computer three floors down.

I have assembled a Raspberry Pi 3 in a case with a 7” LCD screen. The inbuilt
wifi on this puts in on my home network.

Using ser2net on the Raspberry Pi, I can run KX3UI on my iMac three floors down
( configured as a Piglet ).
This is well documented elswhere

I then set up a virtual screen screen session with the Rasbian’s RealVNC and
set the resolution to 1024x800.

I can then run WSJT-X on the remote Raspberry Pi in the higher res screen
session upstairs , but see and operate it on my downstairs iMac computer.
I haven't yet managed to get voice over IP for SSB, but if PSK31 or the the
JTxx modes interest you then it can be done easily and cheaply.

I haven’t yet setup a remote relay driven by the Raspberry Pi to start the KX3
up. but it should be an easy job to send a 100msec +9v pulse to the mic input
line . When that happens I can close the loft cover .
