To put it mildly, with progress in computing, the implementation in DSP is easier, smaller, cheaper and mostly better. Programming is expensive.
Same with tube and SS amplifiers. Most likely, hardware-wise SS is easier, cheaper and mostly better. Initial design and programming are expensive. Average age of ham radios is around 65 (QST). Old "truths" die slowly.
