Thanks to all who responded on this and all is now working properly.  Last evening, as I was pulling my hair out on this problem, the software suddenly recognized the W2 and I was in business.  This was after I had plugged/unplugged the W2 end of the cable dozens of times, reloaded drivers, etc.  At the time, I thought maybe the problem was a dirty or corroded plug or jack as the previous owner had never connected the W2 to his PC.  After reading these recent posts, it's also possible that I powered down/up the W2 while the software was running.  At any rate, I cleaned the plug with DeOxit and inserted it several times into the jack and it's still working well.

I calibrated the W2 against my LP-100A and a setting of 498 on the W2 resulted in about 5 watts difference between the two at the 1,500 watt level.  The difference at lower power levels  was a bit more or less than that depending upon the level.
