Hi Don,
     Well, that’s the answer.  Except that I have not done any previous  tuning 
or listening on the 30 meter band; this is a new 3080 mod installation.  But 
for some reason the frequency in memory was 12.  I’ve tuned down a bit and now 
am seeing 10 MHz when I hit the band switch.  Thanks!

With the KX1 having general coverage receive capability, is it possible 
that you have at some point or another dialed the VFO to a 12 MHz segment?

Try just dialing it to the 30 meter band and see what happens.
