Don - Thanks for the "reset warnings"! I haven't done that yet.
I'm in the middle of re-building a new KNB2 that Elecraft's support group sent me. For some reason - existing KNB2 seems to do little with noise. Had a series of cement trucks out front last week, MUCH MUCH ignition noise - the KNB2 I have in here now - did nothing to remove or reduce it? (20m, 40m) And this K2 aligned very nicely - and seems extra sensitive, etc. I did the whole Spectrogram 5.7 thing. (with your help!) I'd just like to make sure my K2 # 5422 - "knows" that a new KNB2 option is installed. And "clears it's throat", etc. 73's Fred N3CSY US/Canadian border - St. Lawrence River upstate NY 6/27 --- Don Wilhelm <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Fred, > > In a word, NO!!! > Do not do a reset - you will have to re-enter all > the settings for > filters/BFOs, and any other parameters you have so > carefully set into your > K2. > > The firmware handles removal and replacement of > options automatically with > the AUXBUS signalling, you do not have to do > anything to make that happen. > > While we are on the subject - if you have not done > so, it is a good idea to > write down the settings for these parameters. > Download the A to B > instructions from the Elecraft website, and you will > find it has a nice > chart where you can enter your filter settings an > other menu items just in > case something happens along the way and you have to > re-enter them. > > 73, > Don W3FPR > > > > -----Original Message----- > > > > I have to replace a questionalble KNB2 NB option, > > pcb card (populated). > > > > Is there someway the K2 (#5422) needs or can be > > RESET - to first know that, once I pull out > existing > > KNB2 option card, it again doesn't have one - and > > then when I put new KNB2 populated card back in - > > it knows again a KNB2 exists? > > > > Wow - long winded, for "can I reset my K2?"
