the efficacy of a counterpoise on boats has been the subject of much study over the years during which many myths have been disproven. Among them is the need for connection to a grounding plate which is good for dissipating lightning but makes a poor counterpoise.
Another myth is that length of material underwater is of any importance. Or that radials in the bilge is effective. Long story short - a so.id connection to any thruhull is equally effective. I know because I’ve tried all the options over many years. ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Message delivered to arch...@mail-archive.com
