It is my humble opinion that a good start to think about for the price to save money for a Elecraft K4 Kit is 10% below the cost of a full factory assembled unit.
I've been in business for 40 years, and looking at many units, 10% below is just about right. You must realise that with the K4 and both the K3/K3S, the circuit boards were compartmentised to the extent that the biggest part seemed to be assembly of the unit inside the chassis, and testing. And the KX2/KX2 and the KXPA100 are in the same class..
