Been waiting over a month for a reply from Elecraft: "SSB problem: very little output, 2-5W peak when set for 100. ALC reads full scale regardless of MIC setting, nil @<2. Tried two microphones. If I whistle, I can get full output. All this independent of compression. on CW: first dit after a long settle will overdrive trip the KPA500. next dit will be at 100W and gradually come up to 500W over 10 dits. During a contest it will behave. Seems like an ALC problem.
