I assume RF power level settings for the KXPA100 and K3 are the same? I had similar issues with the Powerwerx, but it occurs only with loads above 15 amps for any length of time. The fan noise was so loud it was annoying. With some age on the supply it's much worse. I swapped to an Astron Linear years ago and have never looked back - no fan, no noise. I leave it on all of the time to keep my battery plant charged using a Low Loss Power gate.
