Jim and Dave, My K3S when in DATA mode, the MIC+LIN says "not APPL". Jim you must not be in DATA mode. You have to be in DATA mode to use the internal sound card for FT8. I got my K4D a year ago so it has been a while since I worried about such things.

Also, the mic level control on the front panel affects the line in level when you are in data a mode. In other modes, it is a mic level, instead.
