I am switching the power supplies of my QO100 transverter chain
(multiple transverters and all) with a solid-state relay controlled by
the 12V output of the K3 (I think K4 has something similar).
Given that the KPA500 has a heavy transformer, you will want a solid
state relay that can take a heavy startup surge.
Other than that - "these relays have screw contacts" - it should be
simple to construct something.
Brands to google for is Carlo Gavazzi, Finder, and others.
My 12V output cable has a male and female cinch connector, so I can
connect other devices from the same 12V output port using a daisy chain.
