Thanks everyone for the advice and pointers. My K3 is S/N 01408, so that sounds like it is indeed an older one (inherited from my father). I’ll do a little more searching through the archives and then see what I can do. I’ve discovered that if I push the rotary pushbutton CMP/PWR knob several times, the problems I was having with the other regular push buttons (e.g. band change not changing bands but trying to do something else) seems to have improved.
