Hi all.
During a POTA activation last week, I encountered an issue with the LCD display for VFO B. Two segments of a single 'digit' had gone out. In real time, I wasn't aware of the LCDTEST function present in the menu. As such, troubleshooting had to wait until I was back at the house and after a(nother) read through the manual, I toggled the function on and off one time and life was good again. Even powered the rig off and back on a couple of times to see if the issue would return but it stayed solid. Just minutes into this morning's activation, I noticed that the same two segments had gone out again. This time, no amount of toggling the LCDTEST or powering the rig down and back on had any effect. It was during this time that I also noticed that ATU would not illuminate after activating it from the menu.* As such, the only indication of the state of the ATU is to check it via the menu. While I don't consider either one of these to be showstoppers, I do find them to be minor annoyances. Especially considering that I bought it new while at the booth in Dayton earlier this year. Anyone know of any other settings I can check or things to try that I might have missed? *I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that I've seen ATU illuminated (just to the left of the RIT indicator) during previous use of the tuner. Pages 12 and 13 of the KX2 Owner's Manual appear to back me up on this.
