time it takes for digital processing to convert audio to digital,
transmit it from the radio to the headset, and for the headset to
convert it back to audio.
There are (at least) two Bluetooth standards that I'm aware of. The
older "high power" version has greater latency than the newer "low
power" version likely to be used in headsets. Both are large enough to
make it impossible to monitor your own sending.
