Apple has announced MacOS Tahoe (v26 - i.e. the current release) will be the final release to support Intel processors, while security updates for Intel will continue into 2028. So the next release of MacOS (v27 - likely Fall 2026) will only run on Apple Silicon.
I guess we will have to plan accordingly.
