Yep. Dummy load resistors have a finite lifetime, it seems. I had been lugging around a "Benton Harbor Paint Can" full of mineral oil from move to move for decades. I first filled it in 1968 in Houston TX.<see below> Not long ago, while using it as a port terminator on a duplexer, the port isolation was nowhere near what it should be. Ohmmeter said the Cantenna had become a 97 ohm dummy load.

HER: I can't sell you this oil.
ME: Why not?
HER: It's Sunday.
ME: I'm over 21.
HER: Are you going to drink all of it?
ME: What?
HER: If you are, it's medicine and I can sell it to you.
ME: Yes.
HER: That'll be six ninety seven and thanks for shopping at Weingartens.

Subject [Elecraft] Very High SWR on all bands; K3 #6957

I had a couple of private responses, for which I am very grateful. After
checking several items all of which were OK, checked the dummy load. Which
was not OK; doh. With a good dummy load, everything is showing normal. Huge
sigh.
