There are many advantages of using the archives exclusively, and not
receiving the archives ...
o View messages within an hour of posting.
o Only open the messages you're interested in reading.
o Browser "visited link" (history) shows which messages you've read.
The only reason I can envision for the digest is if someone is without a
permanent Internet connection, i.e. they only have dial-up.
