Good Evening,
Last night I wrote I had only met two of you. After the forty meter net, as I was walking back to this computer, I realized that number was quite a bit higher. WA7BOC checking in jogged my memory. I think I have met about ten of you so far! Most of you at Sea Pac when Pat and I were there a couple of times. Each time I go to that hamfest I seem to be working instead of simply wandering around. Only once, back in 2001, did I go through the place without working at a booth. I was a tech then, still wet behind the ears. My license class has changed but I still have much to learn. Given a thousand years I would still have much to learn. Considering I started studying for my license in 1966 you'd think I'd know something by now. However, thank you for joining us tonight. It was nice to hear you all. Twenty meters was a bit better than forty tonight. I knew something was up when Tom gave me a 449 on 7045 kHz and I gave him a 229. I could not hear folks very well at all. But Roger did pop up so I could copy most of his contact with Tom. He lives just over the hill from me in Washington. By the way he is one of those folks I've met from our group. I worked with him at SeaPac for an afternoon. Thank you for keeping me company tonight too. Having you all out there makes it a bit less intimidating to face my memories. Pat would be proud of you all and want to know how each of you are doing and what the weather is like in your part of the world. Each Sunday evening she'd ask about how it went. She knew I was having a lot of fun running the nets and was very supportive. I have kept up the tradition by making sure I prepare and eat something special for dinner each Sunday. Tonight: New York strip steak, baked potato, mix of veggies with cauliflower, carrots, and broccoli. Plus a green salad. The steak was covered with a glaze of mushrooms sauteed with two cloves of garlic. Do not come anywhere near me right now :) but it tasted fantastic. Please try the mushrooms sauteed with garlic. I think I should make a gravy of what remains in the pan to drive myself crazy! It would be wonderful.

If there are any errors in the lists please send me the corrections. Thank you for your support over the years, it makes running the nets a lot of fun. Pat thought it was a good thing for me to do. I thought it was kind of silly for someone as inexperienced as me to start it but she convinced me to go ahead with the idea. I am glad she did for I've met many nice folks out of it.
I hope you all stay warm, dry, and well over the next week.
      73,
Kevin. KD5ONS (Net Control Operator 5th Class)
