Dennis, That may be OK for a 500 ma. wall wart. Unless it is one of the rare regulated wall warts, the low current voltage will be quite high and when loaded to half is capability (approximately .25 Amps), the voltage can sag quite a bit. Remember that there is a protective diode in series inside the K2 which will drop about 0.1 to 0.2 volts.
If you can get a more stable power supply than a wall wart, please do so.
